Black Sabbath 13 vinyl recordOne of the greatest albums released this year is definitely Black Sabbath’s new record titled 13. I preordered my vinyl several months ago and received it last week. Ray Conniff and The Singers Alone Again (Naturally) vinyl record Side AI think that the very first vinyl record in my life was a Ray Conniff and The Singers album titled Alone Again (Naturally). I was about 4 years old, I think, and I already had my own turntable which was looking like a shoe box and was made of wood. It was a mono one, of course, Soviet record player named Caravella. Now I really can’t imagine I was using it, but back then I could not even dream about something else.

Last Record Store Day was pretty busy for me because of my daughter’s birthday party, so unfortunately I was not able to get a Dio Magica picture vinyl, which was released with 500 copies only. Actually, I tried to. I came to the Streetlight Records in San Jose, but that was probably too late. There [...]

When your tonearm’s skipping…

March 28, 2013

Interesting issue I recently found with my new Music Hall MMF-7.1 turntable. Despite the fact I have it for about two months already, I had a chance to fully listen to it only two weeks ago when I stayed sick at home and did not go to work. I was laying on my sofa listening [...]

4ARM – Submission For Liberty

February 8, 2013

I really thought that the list of my favorites bands is pretty stable, but now I know I was wrong. And it’s really cool to admit that. I’m adding one more band to that list, the Thrash Metal folks from Australia – 4ARM.  Never heard of them before the Dark Roots of Thrash tour. I [...]

November 19, 2012

Last Friday I had a chance to talk to Voivod folks Away (Michel Langevin) and Blacky (Jean-Yves Thériault) before they hit the stage of Fox Theater in Oakland, CA promoting their upcoming album Target Earth. Though I had a very limited time with them, I really enjoyed the conversation in a nice and friendly atmosphere. [...]

Accept – Stalingrad Tour 2012

September 28, 2012

Accept’s recent performance in San Francisco was probably one of the most greatest Rock events in Bay Area I attended to. The reason of that is not the fact I had a press access to the venue and was able to enjoy their performance from zero range. No. The true reason is the musicians approach, [...]

Interview with Wolf Hoffmann

September 27, 2012

This whole week goes for me under the aegis of Teutonic Metal and I really like it. Not only on my way to work, not only at home, but also live. Last Tuesday I’ve been a witness of a great Rock event in San Francisco. As you may know, at this tour Accept and Kreator [...]
