So glad to show you one more vinyl record release from my favorite band Paradise Lost. This is a live performance recorded in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in September 2014 with Plovdiv symphonic orchestra.
I pre-ordered “The Book of Souls” vinyl on Amazon about 2 months ago and was really surprised it arrived right on the album release day, which is September 4th. A beautiful limited addition triple heavy weight black vinyl set coming in a gorgeously designed sleeve awesome pictures and lyrics. The set also includes a code for digital version download.
After 40 years of rocking, Motörhead releases their 22nd album called “Bad Magic”. I preordered it in a Deluxe Limited Edition Box Set form factor about two months ago and received it yesterday, which is pretty fast, only three days after the record came out. And yes, I already had a chance to spin in on my turntable. But let me tell ya first what comes in the box…
I’m a Paradise Lost fan for almost 25 years. Every time they release a new album is like a huge event for me. I have all of them in my vinyl collection and the one they released this June is not exception. Last Saturday I rushed to a local record store in order to get it.
In that short video I demonstrate how to install dust cover hinges on Technics SL-1210m5g turntable. For some reason, Panasonic made it complicated and starting from M3D model, they subtracted the hinges, which is not comfortable for me. I like a dust cover to be attached to a turntable, so I could easily cover it while playing a record.
I’m really glad I’m not as conservative as I thought I am. I still continue to discover new music and new bands, though in that particular case one of the band members is very famous and is actually one of my favorite drummers. His name is Dave Lombardo and the band I’m talking about is called Philm.
This album just celebrated its 30th anniversary, but every time I listen to it, the music amazes me just like at the very first time. This is probably my very favorite album from Judas Priest, “Defenders of The Faith”, released in 1984 and it’s the 9th studio album of the band.
Tomorrow, on November 16 2014, Judas Priest will perform here in San Jose, CA as a part of the tour dedicated to their new 17th album released several months ago. The album is titled by one of its songs – Redeemer of Souls. I think, this work is very interesting and follows the great old school tradition of Heavy Metal. I purchased the record right after it became available and very enjoyed it.
2014 maybe is not a great year in human history, but it’s definitely a good one in terms of musical releases. One of them is a compilation of greatest hits from Ozzy Osbourne titled Memories of a Madman, coming on two 180-gram picture vinyl LPs. This is a limited edition release, only 5000 copies were made worldwide.
Yesterday we marked four years since Ronnie James Dio passed away. I remember that day as it was yesterday… I was shocked and depressed. Ten days later, I think, I attended the memorial ceremony in LA and could say my last good bye to one of the nicest persons and one of the greatest Metal singers on the planet. His voice and music live inside of me and will be there till the end of my days. It’s great to know I’m not alone and there are great musicians around who keep his songs live. “This is Your Life” tribute album released couple of months ago is a remarkable work which will definitely make every DIO’s fan happy.
