2014 maybe is not a great year in human history, but it’s definitely a good one in terms of musical releases. One of them is a compilation of greatest hits from Ozzy Osbourne titled Memories of a Madman, coming on two 180-gram picture vinyl LPs. This is a limited edition release, only 5000 copies were made worldwide.
The compilation contains 17 tracks. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to include all great songs from Ozzy on two records, but I would say that there are 2 songs (this is my personal opinion), that could be excluded from the list and replaced by something else. These songs are “I don’t wanna stop” and “Let me hear you scream”. I’m not a big fan of them and would prefer to see “Waiting for darkness” and “Shot in the dark” instead. But, anyways, it’s a beautiful collectible edition and I’m lucky to have it.
Initially I was a bit concerned when I saw a “remastered” word on a sticker, but I can assure you there is nothing to worry about and the sound is awesome.
The back side of the sleeve also lists song titles, have some credits and there is a yellow sticker which says my copy number is 800 from 5000:
Unfortunately due to all these copyright issues I recently had on my YouTube channel, I stopped making videos containing music and also I understand, that any video cannot express a true quality of sound. You should believe my word: I truly enjoyed the listening. I really think, that this compilation is a must have item for any Ozzy’s fan, especially if you are a vinyl record collector as I am.
