Tomorrow, on November 16 2014, Judas Priest will perform here in San Jose, CA as a part of the tour dedicated to their new 17th album released several months ago. The album is titled by one of its songs – Redeemer of Souls. I think, this work is very interesting and follows the great old school tradition of Heavy Metal. I purchased the record right after it became available and very enjoyed it.
2014 maybe is not a great year in human history, but it’s definitely a good one in terms of musical releases. One of them is a compilation of greatest hits from Ozzy Osbourne titled Memories of a Madman, coming on two 180-gram picture vinyl LPs. This is a limited edition release, only 5000 copies were made worldwide.
Yesterday we marked four years since Ronnie James Dio passed away. I remember that day as it was yesterday… I was shocked and depressed. Ten days later, I think, I attended the memorial ceremony in LA and could say my last good bye to one of the nicest persons and one of the greatest Metal singers on the planet. His voice and music live inside of me and will be there till the end of my days. It’s great to know I’m not alone and there are great musicians around who keep his songs live. “This is Your Life” tribute album released couple of months ago is a remarkable work which will definitely make every DIO’s fan happy.
I was thinking for a while what would be if my posts will not be only dedicated to vinyl records and concerts; what would be if I will post here many other interesting (at least what I consider to be interesting) stuff… And I decided – what the hell could be wrong!? That could do only better. So, today I would like to talk a little about my new hobby, the one which I was thinking of for at least last 20 years – a motorcycle riding.
Had an awesome time yesterday at Slim’s in San Francisco. There was a great Metal event featuring the bands Nothing More, Eve to Adam, Kyng and Lacuna Coil. Shame on me, I was not familiar with three first bands, that’s why I feel even more happier now, because I discovered some new stuff. Also, thanks to Century Media‘s great team, I had a chance to interview Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna. Let’s sort the things out, because I have tons of impressions…
In this post I would like to go back in time to mid seventies, when I was a little child. Despite the fact I was a kid, I was already a vinyl head and also had my own turntable – a relatively big box made of wood, mono, but the one I was allowed to fully operate.
Being a bit more busy than usually last year is not an excuse for not showing one of the greatest Metal releases of 2013. I’m talking about 14th studio album from one of my favorite German Heavy Metal bands – U.D.O.
Hey there Vinyl-lovers! Efrafa from postmyrock.com here! I’m doing a guest post here on the site that inspired me to make my own. I want to show off one of the best records released 2013!
I am quite sure you have not missed the phenomenon that is Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats. Few bands have in modern era created such a mystique and hype.
Interesting, how music we hear for the first time sounds very familiar to us. Sometimes it happens, because the composition includes some parts, riffs or whatever we already know; but in other cases it could happen because music just associates with some period of our life, for example, so it looks like it brings us back in time. Exactly such feeling came to me when I listened to a very interesting work of one of Californian young bands from LA called Feast of Fetus. The album is titled Animals in Falsetto released on July 30 2013.
Last Thursday I had a great time in San Francisco at The Black Cat and White Zombie Horror Movies screening, presented by Kirk Hammett and Bela Lugosi Jr. I’m not a person who watches movies very often, especially in theaters, but when I do – I try to relax and to enjoy. So, being in Balboa Theatre, I enjoyed not only because of movies, not only because they were presented by Kirk, but also because of the very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
